At long last the screening questions for the much awaited “Block 2” of reservations are here.

In the past few months, Sarah and I have been lucky enough to get nearly 500 reservation requests for Chez Lisgar. For those of you who are terrible at math, if we do 1 dinner a week, with 52 weeks in a year, that would take roughly 9 years to get through everyone.

So what does this mean for you, poor, wandering soul? It means you have less than a 2.4% chance of actually getting a spot for our summer block of reservations, which will take place from June to August.

Now I’m not telling you this to depress you, but I’m telling you because I want you to understand that if you don’t get selected, it’s really just because we didn’t like your answers.

So make sure they’re good.

But seriously. There are a lot of people who want in.

Boosting Your Chances

Here’s how it’s going to work. At the end of this blog post there is a link to the screening form. Fill out the questions, but don’t feel like you need to rush through them. Really think about your answers.

There ARE wrong answers.

After you finish answering the screening questions, you’re going to screenshot the page that appears once you submit your answers, which says: Your response has been recorded. 

Then you’re going to upload it on Facebook as a status update and copy and paste this message:

“I just filled out the screening questionnaire for #ChezLisgar @ChezLisgar . I’M SO EXCITED! http://bit.ly/1V7IJ5C “

At this point you’re probably thinking, “God damn, that’s so much work, screw it!”

Well fine. Screw it. But this is how we:

  1. Ween out the lazy mofos who think everything exclusive and awesome is easy to access.
  2. We can make sure you’re a real person on Facebook and ensure our own safety since it’s a scary world out there.

So don’t do this step if you don’t want to, but if you don’t- you pretty much have no chance at getting a spot at our dinner table.

Listen, I’m not trying to be mean, or rude, I’m just being real with y’all. After CBC’s TV special, Sarah and I got some really weird and creepy emails. In order to make sure those weirdos DON’T show up uninvited, we need to make the process very high in terms of friction.

It’s also the only way my grandmother and Sarah’s parents will stop nagging us about this whole Chez Lisgar thing.

The Next Chapter of Chez Lisgar

In complete seriousness though, Sarah and I are both really excited for the next chapter of Chez Lisgar. Prior to now, we only had members from Bunz Trading Zone join us in our home. Bunz has a very strong sense of trust within its community, so precautions are crucial as we open our kitchen up to the general public of Toronto. We want the experience to be great for us, but we want it to exceed your expectations as well!

So I invite you to proceed to the screening form. For all of those who are selected for Block 2, we are SUPER excited to meet you, and for everyone else, we will definitely consider you for our future reservations blocks.
